
- Sahar is Egyptian, currently based in Cairo.
- Graduated with highest honors from university in Cairo, majoring in Management and Culture.
- Worked in many people-related careers in parallel, including presenting public events and TV programs; instructing training courses in communication, thinking skills and cross cultural issues; image consulting for public speakers; delivering orientation lectures for first-time visitors to the Middle East; and localization consulting for international educational projects.
- Practiced journalism, creative writing and editing in Arabic and English for various types of publications and business in marketing and advertising.
- Traveled to 25 countries worldwide and published many travel articles with photos, exploring cultural issues. She’s an amateur photographer and an avid reader in psychology, sociology, culture, science, literature and Islamic issues.
- Extensive experience in the dynamics of multinational e-communities on the internet, with award winning online projects since 1998.
- Interviewed in various regional and international TV programs, Newspapers, Magazines, and Websites as a success example of modern Egyptian and Muslim women.
- Consults for Islam Online, the largest Islamic portal on the net to answer questions about Islamic culture in English and to conduct live online dialogue on cross-cultural issues.
- Currently focusing on utilizing her skills and experience to improve Muslim-West relations.
- In 2006, with the help of a team of international volunteers, Sahar created and launched Don’t Hate, Educate! www.zero-net.net a creative cross-cultural communication project following the Danish cartoons crisis to prove that proper communication can prevent future clashes. Since then, Zero-net has won many awards for best creative content and design, and has attracted media attention on an international scale.
- Sahar has designed and delivered many public lectures and creative workshops to audiences from many nationalities based on the success story of the creative concepts of Zero-net.net to inspire better communication and understanding.
- Sahar was recently selected as one of the Women Leaders for the World by the business school at the University of Santa Clara, California, in recognition to her work in promoting cross-cultural understanding
- During working on Zero-net, she met and married a Danish man; further proof of the power of good cross-cultural communication and respect for human diversity.
